The Eagles on Saturday afternoon elevated TE Zach Ertz and TE Josiah Deguara for their Week 4 game against the Rams at the Linc on Sunday.
This is the second of a maximum three elevations for Ertz and the first elevation for Deguara.
Ertz, 35, made his 2026 debut last week against the Bears on Monday Night Football. Ertz played 19 offensive snaps in Week 3. He was targeted 2 times and caught 1 pass for 9 yards.
Ertz was on a pitch count because this was his first game since tearing his ACL and LCL as a member of the Commanders last Dec. 7. The Eagles signed Ertz to their practice squad after Dallas Goedert sprained his MCL in Week 2. Goedert has already been ruled out for this game and might miss some more.
The Eagles will be without Goedert, DeVonta Smith and Hollywood Brown against the Rams. So there’s a good chance they want to feature Ertz a bit more in this game as a receiving threat. Their top receivers will be Dontayvion Wicks, Makai Lemon and Darius Cooper. Their top tight end last week was veteran Johnny Mundt.
Deguara, 29, was signed to the practice squad on Sept. 15. Deguara is a former third-round pick of the Packers back in 2020 out of Cincinnati. He has played in 77 games with 12 starts over the last six years and has 53 catches for 471 yards and 3 touchdowns. Deguara also has 972 career special teams snaps under his belt.
The Eagles’ tight ends for Sundays game will be Mundt, Ertz, E.J. Jenkins and Deguara.
Goedert was one of six players ruled out for Sunday, along with Smith, Brown, Zack Bau, Marcus Epps and Fred Johnson.
